Thomas Dillon

Bio

Thomas Dillon (b. 1986, Staten Island, NY) is a self-taught Contemporary artist based in Philadelphia, PA who began painting just five years ago following earlier creative pursuits in music and writing. Dillon creates intuitively and has worked large-scale since his very first painting.

Dillon's painting practice is focused on mining figures and forms from the abstracted fields of unconscious states. Each painting session begins with a meditation, and he then quickly begins work utilizing non-traditional methodologies and tools to distance himself physically from the painting and blur his authorship. His primary objective is to follow his innate impulses while creating, and for his works to express an unfoldment of the divine rather than the direct hand of the artist.
