Karl Wirsum (b. 1939) is an American artist, who lives and works in Chicago, IL. He was an early member of the notorious Chicago artist collective, The Hairy Who (later known as The Chicago Imagists), and he is primarily known for his highly stylized drawings, paintings and sculptures that reference sources as varied as comic books, African art, Japanese woodblock prints and outsider art.
